Testimonials from Northern Lights TSA
“My time at St. Thomas More was excellent! I received nothing but support from the start to the end of my training year. It gave me a holistic experience of life as a secondary school teacher and I loved every minute of it. The staff are so supportive and approachable. I would recommend the course and the school to anyone!”

“The teacher training program at St Thomas More Catholic School is second to none. It is a fantastically well organised course, which gradually introduces and prepares trainees for the world of teaching. I felt extremely well supported throughout the course and was provided with excellent training, strategies and tools to be able to teach confidently. The intensity of the SCITT course meant that I felt fully prepared for my NQT year. I could not recommend it enough.”

“My time based at st Thomas More as a PE trainee was absolutely fantastic. The department were amazing and supportive beyond what I can put into words. The guidance I received on a day to day basis was invaluable and key to my current teaching practice. I couldn’t have imagined being at a better school to start my journey into teaching.”

“I had a fantastic experience training at St Thomas More. My mentor was so supportive from start to finish – as were the rest of the English department, and the ITT mentor. The CPD we received at school, in addition to ITT CPD was so well organised, and they helped trainees ease into playing an active role within CPD sessions. This all gave me the confidence, skills, knowledge and understanding that allowed me to gain a permanent position as an NQT. Overall, I was thoroughly prepared to begin my career as a teacher, and I accredit my success as an NQT to them. I couldn’t rate St Thomas More highly enough, and am so pleased I chose to train with you.”

“I found my teaching training experience at St Thomas More to be very rewarding. Working under the guidance of the 3 teaching faculty members at the school was a pleasure and they did a fantastic job of molding me into a teacher. They were highly supportive and would often go out of their way to assist me with any issues I had ongoing.
The teacher training delivered at the school was well rounded and purposeful. I was given a lot of responsibility very early into the year and whilst this was challenging, it presented an opportunity to improve my practice.
Although I believe the workload was tough at the time, looking back, I really think that St Thomas More prepared me successfully for the demands of teacher life and I believe I am succeeding and enjoying my current practice in a new department as a result of their work!”
